On July 5, 2023, we released a new version of Performance Monitor for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and SAP Hana databases. Changes added in the latest version of the application include functionality for copying links to pages in DBPLUS application, Oracle Alert Log monitoring. A search engine for anomalies in database performance statistics and index monitoring on the PostgreSQL platform have also been added.
Copying links to application pages
As part of the analysis in the Performance Monitor application, the user will be able to send a link with access to a particular page. This makes it possible to quickly transfer between users the analysis performed in the Performance Monitor application.
The ability to copy links is available from the performance details of an instance. The link contains the encoded configuration, which is available to read only from the Performance Monitor application level
Oracle Alert Log support
In the latest version, monitoring of the Oracle X$DBGALERTEXT view containing database logs has been added. Configuration of alerts based on ORA problems is available in the Performance Monitor application. If a problem occurs in the Oracle log, the application user will be notified on the application page as well as receive information about the problem via email.
Search for anomalies in database performance statistics
The mechanism for searching for anomalies in database statistics is available from the details of the monitored database in the Perf Counters tab.
The search consists in comparing the level of a given performance indicator for which values in the indicated period deviate from the trend for the last 30 days. The result of the search is a list of indicators for which trend anomalies were detected in the indicated period.
Access to software updates
The DBPLUS software is updated at least 4 times a year. Customers have access to all updates when they have a license or maintenance service. With the upgrade to the latest version, the application will run faster and smoother. Each published version provides new functionalities that allow for easier management and performance improvement in the monitored database.
